Sports Centers Tensile Steel Structure In Pingyang

Pingyang Sports Center is located on Yahe Road, Kunyang Town, Pingyang County. The project is built according to the standards of Class B public sports venues. The steel structure engineering has two parts: steel columns and roof. The steel columns adopt box type welded sections, and the roof adopts 19 different span cantilever steel truss structures, all of which use intersecting welded nodes. The roof is covered with a cable membrane structure, and the expanded area of the PTFE membrane structure is about 25000 square meters.

Due to the special functions, complex structure, and large spatial span, there are many challenges faced during the construction process. To solve these difficulties, Wanhao project team has taken the following measures:1.Prepare a special construction plan in advance and organize expert discussions.2.Use TEKLA 3D modeling technology and BIM technology to simulate and guide construction.3.Conduct construction process analysis such as drone measurement and anti slip experiments.4.Strictly control every detail from deepening production and processing to installation and welding.

The application of tensioning technology in steel structures is quite extensive, especially in space steel structures. Through it, the stability and load-bearing capacity of the structure can be effectively improved. In the construction of Pingyang Sports Center, the combination of steel structure and cable membrane structure shows that tensioning technology is an important means to achieve the stability and aesthetic effect of the sports center.

On August 18, 2023, the steel structure of the project was successfully closed. In 2024, the steel structure engineering of the project won the 2023 "China Steel Structure Gold Award". The completion of Pingyang Sports Center will not only a stadium, but also a new cultural landmark in the local area. It can hold concerts, large-scale gatherings and other activities to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of citizens. By hosting various sports events and cultural activities, the sports center will further enhance the visibility and reputation of Pingyang County.
