The "Key Technology of ETFE membrane Design and Construction of Love Tower of Xi 'an Silk Road Style City" completed by Wanhao Space Structure won the 2024 Technology Innovation Award.

Project overview

Xi 'an Silk Road-Tower of Love consists of four parts: tower body, streamer, skirt and Mobius ring. The tower body is composed of a two-way rhomboid mesh interwoven combination, the spiral hyperbolic streamers rotate upward from the tower body and diverge, and the exterior is covered with ETFE cable membrane structure, and the shape rises and spirals upward. The skirt is arranged radially by the hyperboloid truss, and the cornice of the truss is composed of a combination of musical notes, and the whole is covered with ETFE cable membrane structure. The top is closed with a complex Mobius ring shape, and the surface is mounted with a dynamic LED screen. The main light show of the Silk Road Tower is presented in three parts: ribbon, skirt and Mobius ring. In order to better effect, the Happy World of the Silk Road chooses to image in an irregular area and enhance the display effect by presenting in a ribbon. It seems that each has its own characteristics, but it is a unified one. While the lighting is beautiful, it is accompanied by music, and the four seasons chapters made by digging the rhythm of the four seasons are played from the tower in a scattering way, surrounding the whole tower and the tower, and also the Silk Road culture runs through the light show.
