Australia’s Fountain Square canopy project is currently in the critical phase of membrane post tensioning process. The core highlight of this project lies in its innovative dual-membrane system consisting of PTFE and ETFE: the PTFE membrane serves as the primary structural support, providing stability and shape, while the ETFE membrane adds transparency and flexibility. This precise coordination of high-altitude construction activities will effectively define the future form of this spatial complex, making it a technological landmark that connects the various core areas of the site.

During the dome construction process, the team strictly followed the principle of “gradual tensioning” and used professional equipment to precisely control the tension parameters, ensuring that each layer of membrane material fit perfectly with the steel truss structure.

The light transmittance of ETFE membranes can reach up to 95%. Combined with the excellent light-blocking properties of PTFE membranes, this allows sufficient natural light to enter the dome structure the day, thereby reducing lighting energy consumption. At night, when combined with artificial lighting, it creates a dreamy atmosphere, contributing to energy-saving and environmentally friendly practices.
