Using PTFE Membrane Structure in Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center (Hongdao)

The International Convention and Exhibition Center (Hongdao) is located in the northern part of Qingdao,and is one of the largest and most advanced exhibition complexes in northern China. The center is designed by the renowned German design company GMP based on the positioning of the fifth generation exhibition complex, with a building area of 488000 square meters, an indoor exhibition area of 150000 square meters, and an outdoor exhibition area of 200000 square meters.The project adopts 1500 ton secondary steel structure with a membrane unfolding area of 40000 square meters.

The deepening design and installation implementation of the International Convention and Exhibition Center will be completed by Wanhao. The main body is a large-span hyperbolic pipe tension structure, and the roof is made of ptfe film. It is the only project in the field of membrane structures that has achieved an A-level fire performance, and also the largest single PTEF reverse hanging membrane. The project adopts 1500 ton secondary steel structure with a membrane unfolding area of 40000 square meters.

PTFE membrane, as a high-performance material, is inert and non combustible due to its substrate being glass fiber and coating being ptfe. The fire performance of PTFE film ensures that the exhibition center remains non combustible even under continuous high temperature and sun exposure in summer, maintaining the safety of the people.in the north, further promoting the development of Qingdao's exhibition industry.

PTFE material also has properties such as low friction, good corrosion resistance, and sustainable development. The International Exhibition and Convention is China's first green construction technology demonstration project with new standards for completion and acceptance, and has won multiple national awards such as the China Steel Structure Gold Award and the China Installation Star.
