BYD Race track sand dune membrane structure viewing canopy

The project is in BYD Shaoxing Raceway's core area. As a key viewing facility, the viewing platform uses the track's natural terrain to offer a wide view of the main racing area. Its overall design is sleek and dynamic, reflecting the raceway's sports atmosphere. It has a modern, lightweight style, combining steel structure robustness and membrane structure aesthetics.

The dry-dug sand slope at the racetrack is a crafted elevated viewing platform. Its elevation enables unobstructed race watching, guides crowd flow, and divides the venue, enhancing spatial dynamics and the competitive atmosphere. A membrane structure canopy is installed over the sand slope for shade and rain protection, improving spectator comfort. The lightweight and strong membrane suits the sand slope's large-span, irregular surface without harming its natural shape, prevents wind erosion, and maintains soil stability. The light-transmissive, self-cleaning membrane with a dynamic design matches the racetrack's aesthetics. This approach reduces maintenance costs and creates a functional, safe, and appealing landmark.

In this project for the BYD Shaoxing Racing Track viewing platform, Wanhao Group was in charge of steel - structure construction and PTFE membrane - structure installation. The construction team strictly controlled all aspects from initial surveys, design and material processing to on - site assembly, membrane cutting, tensioning, sealing and finishing to ensure project quality and safety.
