Evergrande invited 8 top masters from the United States, Germany, Britain, Australia and other countries to organize several rounds of design comparison and selection, and finally chose the top American master Hasan Thayer's plan. The design concept for this release came from the "Bandian Lotus", which means the Chinese traditional cultural character of "noble, tenacious and united" and the beautiful vision of "the lotus blooms and wins the laurel crown".

The appearance adopts modern morphological techniques for gem-like multi-faceted cutting. The design uses abstract architectural language, blending layers of high-tech skin texture and ultra-light architectural elements. It is like a laurel tailored for Guangzhou football. It will become a "flower city" "Guangzhou's permanent business card in full bloom.

Guangzhou Evergrande Football Stadium is adjacent to Guangzhou South Railway Station, with a construction area of about 300,000 square meters and can accommodate 100,000 people to watch the game. It will be built into the world's largest, highest-grade, most complete supporting, highest technological content, and most seats international top professional football field. In addition, the new stadium also plans 122 categories of 8 major formats including children's world, international cuisine, cultural entertainment, and sports to create a landmark sports and cultural complex. The new stadium is scheduled to be completed and put into use by the end of 2022.

In Asia, the number of top professional football stadiums in China lags far behind Japan, South Korea, Qatar and other countries. At present, there are 11 professional stadiums under construction and planning in the country, including Guangzhou Evergrande Stadium, and three stadiums are planned to be converted into professional stadiums. Among the newly built stadiums, Chengdu Phoenix Mountain International Football Center, Xi'an International Football Center, Chongqing Liangjiang Football Competition Center, Dalian Barracuda Bay Football Stadium, and Xiamen New Sports Center are all large in size, and each can accommodate 60,000 people.
