Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire in West Africa, has a tropical maritime climate. The city and the suburbs have pleasant scenery. There are roads built with Chinese assistance and buildings built with assistance from various countries in the city.

The stadium is a 60,000 Class A large stadium with a total construction area of 61,250 square meters. It includes a football field and rugby field that meet international standards, a track and field field with 8 curved tracks and 10 straight tracks on the side of the rostrum, and other functional uses. House. After completion, it will become the largest, highest standard and most modern stadium in West Africa.

The stadium canopy adopts the form of multiple cantilevered inverted triangular cross-section steel trusses, which meets the needs of architectural modeling, and three-dimensional and planar trusses are respectively arranged along the ring direction at the inner end and the middle to solve the overall stability problem of the cantilever truss. At the same time, the canopy forms a system with a certain integrity. During the construction process of the structure, after the rainy and dry seasons, the stadium finally stood on the plain from scratch.

In the design document stage, it is planned to adopt G-type membrane material, but in the construction process, after careful research, the material of the membrane structure canopy is changed to P-type membrane material. The technical performance of the two kinds of membrane materials is equivalent, and each has its own characteristics. Type G membrane materials have good light transmittance and self-cleaning properties, which are also the main reasons why they are favored at home and abroad. The performance of bending resistance is not of great significance after the awning is stretched, and the characteristics of the transportation restriction of the G-type membrane material are the conditions that we learned only after referring to the membrane structure technical guide. For foreign aid projects, building materials need to be processed and transported by land and sea, and the rate of damage to materials that are not resistant to bending may be high; even if they are transported to the site smoothly, due to the large diaphragm, the installation and tensioning process will be damaged by wind. It is almost impossible to compensate. Only from the comparison of material prices, P-type membrane materials are slightly lower than G-type membrane materials. After research, both the design, construction and user agreed to change the canopy membrane material to P type membrane material. During the on-site construction process, the tensioning is completed at one time.
