PTFE Membrane Structure Baseball and Softball Stadium, Shaoxing

The huge canopyabove the venue is the key and difficult point of this design. A bidirectional truss structure system is adopted, with the maximum cantilever of 16 meters supported by slender steel columns. The top surface is covered with PTFE membrane with titanium dioxide coating, with a total area of 21,000 square meters.

PTFE membrane material is made of glass fiber as the fabric base material through a unique processing technology. Its grid coating technology is to increase the yarn grid spacing of the glass fiber base material, impregnate it with PTFE emulsion, and then apply PTFE films on both sides. The PTFE membrane material has high initial pre-tension, high flatness after tensioning, and excellent appearance effect. Even without cables, the span of the membrane unit can easily reach about 5 meters.

The Hangzhou Asian Games Baseball and Softball Sports and Culture Center is currently the largest, highest-standard, and most advanced baseball and softball sports center in the Chinese mainland.
