1. For small damage (diameter below 30mm) or long scratches on the film surface, the general maintenance method is to use special tape made of ETFE film for maintenance and repair. This tape has the same performance as the air pillow film, and has good aging resistance, corrosion resistance, weather resistance and strong chemical and physical properties. After repair, the ETFE air pillow can still maintain the original performance, and the ETFE tape is transparent, from the appearance of the film, will not be affected.

When repairing the membrane surface, the first step is to release the air inside the air pillow, and then temporarily seal the air outlet with an inflation hose. Next, the dust and stains on the surrounding film of the damaged surface are cleaned and dried. Finally, ETFE tape of moderate length is cut off at the damaged area for pasting and sealing. When pasting the tape, it should be noted that the tape and the film surface need to be firmly adhered to, there can be no sticking bubbles, and the pasted tape can not be warped around.

2. For the damaged area of the film surface (more than 30mm), it is necessary to determine whether it can be repaired with ETFE tape according to the actual situation. If it cannot be repaired, the entire ETFE air pillow needs to be replaced. The ETFE air pillow needs to be re-customized and installed to the same specifications.

There is also a situation that may lead to a large area of damage to the ETFE air pillow film surface. Due to the increased pressure inside the air pillow, the damage to the film surface beyond the bearing range of the air pillow, or the cracking of the film material splicing and welding seams in the middle and edge of the air pillow may also lead to a large area of damage to the ETFE air pillow. These conditions cannot be easily repaired with ETFE tape.

For large-area membrane operation repair, first of all, the origin of the air pillow is disconnected, the air inside the air pillow is discharged, then the bolt fixing the air pillow is removed, the damaged air pillow is removed, and finally the new ETFE air pillow is re-operated in the way it was installed for the first time, and all the accessories are fixed.
