"Bird's nest" is rejuvenated -- the "bird's nest" reconstruction project of the national stadium has been officially completed

The 2008 Olympic flame was lit in China for the first time, and Beijing's "bird's nest" focused on the world. Recently, the "bird's nest" reconstruction project of the National Stadium, the final work of the Beijing Winter Olympic project built by China Construction Eighth Bureau, was officially completed. It will undertake the tasks of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games. The "bird's nest" has become the world's first "double Olympic Stadium".

The transformation of the National Stadium focuses on the requirements of "simplicity, safety and excellence", follows the concept of "frugal Olympics", and highlights the characteristics of green, wisdom and humanization. It mainly improves 37 sub items in four major aspects: barrier free facilities system, landscape lighting system, audience service facilities system and other facilities and equipment systems, so as to meet the sustainable development needs of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games and venues.

During the whole construction period, under the overall planning of the venue owner, China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau, as the general contractor, participated in the renovation of steel frame facade, rainwater circulation system, warm water direct drinking water, barrier free toilet and other projects.

The silver gray main body of the reconstructed "bird's nest" is shining. Looking inside, the renovated red wall is more bright against the gray steel structure. The renovation and reconstruction of the facade of bird's nest steel frame structure covers an area of about 100000 square meters, including 22 individual contents, with a wide range of construction and reconstruction and many working surfaces. At the same time, the fluorocarbon paint on the facade of the outer steel frame of the building appeared aging in many places. The project team immediately began to "make up" the bird's nest.

The top plane of the external structure is renovated as a whole. The spot repair of the side elevation and surrounding elevation of the roof steel beam includes the processes of rust removal and grinding, repair and sandpaper grinding. Only in the painting process after the base repair and leveling, there are four layers of primer, intermediate paint, silver gray metal fluorocarbon paint and fluorocarbon finish

As early as the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games, the concept of Green Olympics has been integrated into the construction of "bird's nest". If there is a special rainwater recovery system on the top, the original siphon rainwater pipeline system needs to be upgraded after 13 years of wind and sun. As the siphon rainwater pipeline is located between the two membrane structures, about 25m away from the lower membrane structure, the project team investigates one by one, counts the leakage points and makes unified repair. By erecting special-shaped scaffold as the construction platform, the stress point and tension node are selected according to the actual situation of the site for separate design to ensure safety

In the transformation process, in order to update and upgrade the refrigeration effect of the refrigeration unit, the project immediately established a water heating breakthrough team to check the chillers one by one. Finally, the replacement of the whole refrigeration unit was avoided by replacing the sealing ring, guide vane motor and cleaning the internal pipeline. This alone saved 1.4 million yuan.

Not only the facade is refreshed, but also the interior of the reconstructed "bird's nest" will better meet the current viewing needs, so as to make the bird's nest have the ability to supply warm water in winter. On the basis of the original direct drinking water system, the project team set up a warm water direct drinking water system at the original drinking water tables on floors 1, 2, 5 and 6, and added 128 direct drinking fountains with nanofiltration process.

In order to better implement the concept of "people's Olympics", the project team also transformed 101 barrier free toilets and 100 friendly toilets in the existing venues. Adjust the installation height of the original barrier free facilities, and add personalized facilities such as children's toilet washer, footrest and flexible corner strip to meet the needs of different people. In addition, barrier free ramps have been added to the northeast of the venue to meet the needs of personnel for the winter Paralympic Games. Create a safe, smooth, applicable and humanized environment and comprehensively improve the barrier free service level of venues.
