Tensile Membrane Structure Roof and Steel Structure of Shandong Penglai Stadium

Penglai, a legendary coastal city in northeast China known for its tales of immortals and floating islands, has unveiled a new stadium with a iconic PTFE tensile membrane roof. Inspired by the poetic vision of a "Floating Immortal Island," the design blends the city’s maritime heritage with advanced membrane technology—creating a sustainable landmark that honors tradition while embracing futuristic functionality.

The engineering team proactively tackled technical and construction challenges, overcoming difficulties such as tight schedules and complex working environments. Through meticulous management and control, they ensured the successful completion of the first lifting of the secondary canopy steel structure. 

By optimizing the construction organization plan and adopting the “segmented prefabrication + intelligent monitoring” approach, they strictly monitored the acceptance of steel roof structure, the quality of welding operations, as well as the anti-corrosion coating process. This ensured that the mechanical properties of the steel structure met the required standards, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent large-scale installation.

The successful first lifting of the steel structure marks an important milestone in the progress of the project, indicating that the tensile membrane structure roof of the Penglai Stadium has officially entered the construction phase.
